Elgin Area Chamber CEO Unplugged to feature Seth Hanford, Head of School, Elgin Academy

Find out how Elgin Academy Head of School Seth Hanford defines his leadership style by attending the next Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce popular series, "CEO Unplugged," sponsored by the Grand Victoria Casino.

The luncheon will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the Fox River Room on the second floor at the Grand Victoria Casino pavilion, 250 S. Grove Ave. in Elgin. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with buffet luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Questions and networking to follow. The "CEO Unplugged" luncheon gives attendees the opportunity to learn what made this CEO successful and adapt his/her leadership tips into your own business. The format includes an informal interview with Elgin Academy Head of School Seth Hanford ranging from risks he has taken to what keeps him up at night, and more. It is followed by a quick fire-round of questions and an opportunity to ask questions! Guests will walk away with tidbits of advice from Hanford to implement in their own business.

Since 2012, Seth Hanford has been the Head of School at Elgin Academy, a preschool through 12th grade independent school whose approach to education involves a campus-wide commitment to "taking learning personally."

He began his administrative tenure at Elgin Academy in 2004 as Upper School Director and two years later was added the role as Assistant Head of School. An independent school graduate himself, Hanford is a strong proponent of independent school education, which unites students, faculty, staff, administrators, parents and trustees for an excellent learning environment.

Hanford holds a master's degree in educational administration from Teacher's College, Columbia University, with a specialization in private school leadership and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania.

The "CEO Unplugged" luncheon series has focused on introducing the business community to local CEOs since 2012. The series is led by members of the Elgin Area Chamber special events committee: chair Pat Szpekowski, PmS advertising, inc./PR Strategies, and Jennifer Boyle, Manpower; Toni Diones, Winergy; Yvonne Irving, KCT Credit Union; Tena Robotham, Judson University, and Michael Storey, Beckatt Solutions.
