WDCB presents 'Jazz Fest Week Live Broadcasts' from PianoForte

Chicago's jazz radio station, WDCB 90.9FM, will present live radio broadcasts of five solo piano performances from the PianoForte Studios in Chicago during the week of the Chicago Jazz Festival.

In partnership with the Chicago Jazz Festival, PianoForte Foundation and Jazz Institute of Chicago, and as part of its "Jazz Fest Week Live Broadcasts," WDCB will simulcast all three of this year's "PianoForte Sessions" taking place at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, 26 and 27. The concerts will feature Sam Grossner, John Wright and Matthew Shipp, respectively.

Additionally, WDCB will broadcast a live interview/performance with pianist Geoffrey Keezer from PianoForte on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m. To open the final day of the Chicago Jazz Festival, on Sunday, Aug. 31, the station will present its WDCB Jazz Fest Jazz Brunch, which is free and open to the public. For this event, Laurence Hobgood will perform an hour-long solo piano concert at PianoForte from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a reception with bagels and coffee. Hobgood's set will be simulcast on WDCB.

All five live events are open to the public, and are free of charge. The PianoForte Studios are located in Chicago at 1335 S. Michigan Ave. The broadcasts will be simulcast on 90.9FM, as well as online at WDCB.org and through Chicago cable television via CAN TV42.
