Nic Scandrett named College of Lake County Athletic Director

The College of Lake County is pleased to announce the hiring of a new athletic director, Nic Scandrett of Story City, Iowa. Scandrett has worked as assistant commissioner/sports information director for the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference since 2007. He starts at the college on Aug. 13.

In addition, he is associate executive director for the NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association and basketball director for the Iowa Sports Foundation. Scandrett previously served as head varsity boys basketball coach and head middle school boys track and field coach for the Gilbert Community School District in Gilbert, Iowa. He holds a B.S. in health and human performance from Iowa State University and a Master's of Business Leadership from William Penn University.

As CLC director of athletics and physical activities, Scandrett will oversee 12 intercollegiate athletic teams that participate in the Illinois Skyway Athletic Conference of the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association.

"I am elated to become a part of the team at CLC," Scandrett said. "The beautiful campus, location and strong tradition make it a wonderful place to be. However, I was most impressed by the people on campus, and that is what excites me the most. I look forward to building relationships and enhancing the overall educational experience for our students."
