Barrington, Wheeling win invites

Barrington took top honors in the four-team invitational it hosted Saturday, scoring 445 points to outdistance Madison West (Wis.), which scored 364 points, along with Naperville North (279) and Oak Park-River Forest (244).

Colin O'Leary, Colin Cross, Sebastian Piekarski and Sam Miseyka won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:40.32, and Miseyka, Andrew Fish, Piekarski and Will Hobbs won the 200 free relay in 1:29.87.

Individual winners for the Broncos included Piekarski in the 50 free (22.25) and O'Leary in the 100 back (55.02).

at Maine East: Wheeling and Elk Grove finished 1-2 in the combined scoring of the White Division in the relay meet hosted by the Blue Demons.

Wheeling claimed varsity victories in the 400-yard medley relay (Jake Noel, Kyle Noel, David Modlin and Bryce Maczko in 3:54.21) and the 400 free relay (Jake Noel, Kyle Noel, Justin Loquercio, Bryce Maczko, in 3:27.92.

Elk Grove finished second at the varsity level in the White Division and first in the junior varsity level for a combined score of 138, just 2 points behind Wheeling.

at Niles West: Buffalo Grove finished fourth and Schaumburg fifth as Brother Rice took top team honors at Niles West.

BG's top finishes came from Brandon Hausfeld (1st in the 100 back, 57.50) and Zach Augustyn (2nd in the 50 free, 23.92, and third in the 100 free, 52.99).

Schaumburg's Adam Maslowski was second in diving (319.60), and Matt Sigler was fourth (299.50). Tyler Gustafson was second in the 100 free (52.76), Evan Wahlen placed third in the 500 free (5:24.45) and fourth in the 100 fly (1:02.87), and Sam Thomas was third in the 100 breast (1:08.17).

Lake Park d. Conant: The visiting Lancers got a 118-67 victory over the Cougars in a nonconference dual. The best event for Conant was the 100-meter backstroke, where Kodey Visitacion and Sebastian Peters tied for first in 1:13.70.
