Samaritan Counseling Hires Family Service COO as Clinical Director

The Samaritan Counseling Center of the Northwest Suburbs is pleased to announce that J. Scott Campbell, ACSW, LCSW joined as Clinical Director of their faith-based, professional counseling team.

For the past 39 years Campbell was the Chief Operating Officer for Family Service & Community Mental Health Center for McHenry County, which closed its doors June 30 of this year. He now oversees the daily clinical services of the Samaritan Center and Advantage EAP, a program serving the employees of corporations, municipalities, school districts and other organizations. Campbell and his wife, Colleen, also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, have lived in Crystal Lake for 25 years. He has served in leadership roles within the McHenry County Mental Health Board Mental Health System, McHenry County United Way and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, as well as youth baseball organizations in McHenry County, including the McHenry County Youth Sports Association Board.

Campbellā€™s passion for and experience in the mental health field is a boon to the Samaritan Counseling Center, which is headquartered in Barrington. His connections in McHenry county have opened the way for satellite locations, including The Pointe in Crystal Lake, St. Barnabas Lutheran Church in Cary, and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in McHenry, and Good Shepherd Hospital Outpatient Building in Algonquin. The Samaritan Counseling Center addresses the whole person, providing faith-based counseling, coaching, community presentations, workshops and group sessions for issues such as workplace bullying, identifying depression, parenting, marriage enrichment, grief and loss, trauma recovery, living through change and suicide prevention. Most insurance is accepted and a sliding fee is used. Through charitable contributions Samaritan is able to offer subsidies to those who qualify.
