Beaubien’s widow to announce House run
Dee Beaubien, widow of late Republican state Rep. Mark Beaubien of Barrington Hills, will announce her intention Monday to run as an independent in the 52nd District state representative race against Republican nominee David McSweeney of Barrington Hills. The announcement is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Jewel Tea Pavilion in Citizens Park, 511 Lake Zurich Road in Barrington. After supporting her late husband’s appointed successor, state Rep. Kent Gaffney of Lake Barrington, who lost in the Republican primary in March, Beaubien announced she was considering her own independent run for the office earlier this month.
