Produced by Woodstock resident Dean Rowe, “Becoming Giants” will be presented at the Woodstock Theatre, 209 Main St. in Woodstock.

“Becoming Giants” is a true story about a high school basketball team from the tiny town of Hebron, Illinois. The head coach, who has very little experience coaching basketball, puts together a unique squad including identical twin brothers, a boy with one ear and a tall gangly farm boy who has never seen a basketball game. Under the leadership of an unknown coach, the Hebron Green Giants miraculously rise to the top and make it to the 1952 Illinois State Championship. This varsity team gives America one of the most unforgettable triumphs in high school sports history.
