Register now for College of DuPage fall 2021 semester

College of DuPage will continue to offer a mix of in-person, hybrid, virtual and traditional online courses as part of its measured approach to the fall 2021 semester. Registration for all returning and new students begins Wednesday, May 5, with the fall semester starting Monday, Aug. 23.

Prioritizing the safety and health of students, approximately 30 percent of fall course offerings will be available as full in-person instruction or in a hybrid format that includes partial in-person instruction. Remaining sections will be offered in a traditional online format or as virtual class meetings.

"College leaders are mindful of the impact COVID-19 has had on our students," said COD President Dr. Brian Caputo. "As we continue to navigate the pandemic, we maintain our strong focus on student success, offering flexible, affordable course options to help students in their educational pursuits."

Students in hybrid courses visit the campus for labs, studios or clinical work, with additional required learning online. Online courses, meanwhile, are internet-based, conducted off-campus and adhere to instructor timelines and designated learning outcomes. Students interact with each other primarily through discussion boards and written messages.

Virtual class meetings allow students to interact with faculty and peers in a remote format. They take place completely online in real time at specified days and times using video chat software.

Maintaining a strong focus on student success balanced with consideration of COVID-19's impact, the College of DuPage Board of Trustees authorized keeping tuition flat for the 2021-2022 academic year. Among the lowest in Illinois, tuition and fees remain at $138 per credit hour for in-district residents, $325 for out-of-district students and $395 for out-of-state students. In addition, COD's online course internet fee of $57.50 is waived for all students.

The fall 2021 semester begins Monday, Aug. 23, and includes a 16-, 12- and two eight-week sessions.
