University of Wisconsin-Whitewater joins CLC's Guaranteed Transfer Admission program
The College of Lake County and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater recently signed a Guaranteed Transfer Admission agreement. CLC students who transfer to UW-Whitewater to complete a bachelor's degree will be guaranteed acceptance while completing the requirements in their particular degree.
Karen Hlavin, vice president for student development, said UW-Whitewater's academic reputation, breadth of degree programs and close proximity combine to make the university a great addition to CLC's Guaranteed Transfer Admission. "Through this partnership, we're offering our students yet another high-quality option that is only about an hour's drive from Lake County," Hlavin said. "We can now provide qualified students an opportunity to plan their transfer to UW-Whitewater several semesters in advance and take advantage of advising from both institutions."
Sarah Oberdeck, assistant director and transfer coordinator at UW-Whitewater, said, "We're excited to have established this agreement, as it helps provide a clearer academic transition for CLC transfer students continuing their studies at our university. UW-Whitewater has been rated not only as the safest campus in Wisconsin, but also the best value to earn a degree in the University of Wisconsin System. Our university can provide CLC students with an away-from-home experience, in the southeastern Wisconsin lakes region, that's not too far from family and friends in Lake County, Illinois."
One student who has experienced both schools is Samantha Rayyan, a human resources major from Libertyville. "At CLC, I discovered my passion for a human resources career, and counselors helped me get started on planning," she said. "I chose UW-Whitewater because it has an exceptional business school, and an advisor in the university's Admissions Office was extremely helpful in guiding me through the steps in transferring."
