Ripon College joins CLC's Guaranteed Transfer Admission program

The College of Lake County and Ripon College, a private, national liberal arts college based in Ripon, Wis., recently signed a Guaranteed Transfer Admission agreement. CLC students who meet the requirements outlined in the partnership agreement and transfer to Ripon to complete a bachelor's degree will be guaranteed admission.

To guarantee admission to Ripon College, applicants must meet certain requirements, including high school graduation, grade-point average of at least 2.0 from the College of Lake County and English proficiency requirements. Students are eligible to transfer into all undergraduate degree programs at Ripon College and must complete a minimum of 32 semester credits at Ripon College.

Karen Hlavin, CLC vice president for student development, said Ripon is a great addition to CLC's Guaranteed Transfer Admission program due to its reputation for innovative academic programs and its convenient location, within a two-and-a-half hour drive from Lake County. "Through this partnership, we're offering our students yet another high-quality option for Lake County residents," Hlavin said. "We can now provide qualified students an opportunity to plan their transfer to Ripon several semesters in advance and take advantage of advising from both institutions simultaneously."

During enrollment in the Guaranteed Transfer Admission Program, Ripon College will provide advisement to students to discuss academic program requirements and transfer credit policies. Students also may qualify for Ripon College scholarships, which range from $16,000 to $35,000, annually.

"We're excited to provide this clear path to admission for College of Lake County students who wish to pursue a four-year degree at Ripon," said Andrea Young, acting dean of faculty and associate professor of mathematical sciences at Ripon College. "Ripon's intentionally small campus provides a transformational educational experience, with faculty and staff dedicated to the success of each and every student. Our innovative Catalyst curriculum ensures students are able to complete multiple majors and minors, experiential study and hold internships in four years."
