Naperville North, Central pick up nonconference wins

Naperville North 11, Oswego East 5: Harrison Katz and three relievers combined on the nonconference victory for the Huskies (5-1). Paul Bloodgood and Mariano Long each homered while Idris Hanidu had a pair of hits.

Naperville Central 7, Joliet Catholic 2: Dan Ludwig (1-0) scattered 5 hits over 5 innings, striking out nine and walking none while helping the Redhawks (5-0) to the nonconference win. Bobby Czarnowski's 2-run double sparked a 5-run third inning. Shane Conlon, Matt Cmiel and Mason Hallett had 2 hits apiece.

Lake Park 5, Glenbard East 0: Kevin Miller (1-0) allowed 1 hit over 5 innings and notched 6 strikeouts for the Lancers (5-0) in their nonconference win. Matt Kaiser's first-inning double drove in Dave Dial with the game-winning run.

York 3, Oak Park 1: The Dukes (3-4, 1-0) opened strong in the West Suburban Silver Conference, breaking a scoreless tie with 2 runs in the fourth inning. Two-out singles by Joe Boozell and Kyle Leone spotted York to the 2-0 lead. Steve Adkins (2-1) allowed 3 hits and struck out eight in 6 innings to earn the win.

St. Francis 5, Chicago Christian 4: A 5-run fifth inning powered the Spartans (7-2, 1-0) to the Suburban Christian Conference win. Mike Pugliese went 3-for-4 and Ryan Acciavati went 2-for-4. Jack Roback (2-1) earned the win and Eric Stout the save.

Immaculate Conception 4, Wheaton Academy 3: Carlos Rodriguez singled home Kevin Nutley, who went 3-for-4, with the game-winning run for the Knights (7-4, 1-1) in the bottom of the seventh inning of their Suburban Christian Conference game.

Hinsdale South 14, Addison Trail 4: The Hornets (2-4, 1-0) exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning in their six-inning West Suburban Gold Conference victory. P.J. Schuster went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI. Matt Perez (2-0) pitched all 6 innings to notch the win. Matt Haas launched a third-inning 2-run homer for Addison Trail.
