Ottolin, WW South get bats going
Katie Ottolin went 3-for-4 and drove in 4 runs and Bekah Munday also went 3-for-4 to pace a 15-hit attack for the visiting WW South (1-1), which defeated Addison Trail 12-3 on Tuesday.
Glenbard North 7, Elgin 2: Sophomore Alexis Simone went 3-for-4 with a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored for the Panthers (1-0) in Elgin. Alyssa Jasinski went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI, Jenny Nelson scored 2 runs and Lilly Fecho struck out three in five innings.
Minooka 6, Naperville North 2: A six-run Minooka fifth spoiled the Huskies' season opener in Naperville. Sammy Marshall went 2-for-4 for Naperville North.
Bolingbrook 6, Naperville Central 3: Two Redhawks errors led to the tying and go-ahead runs for Bolingbrook in the second inning of Naperville Central's season opener in Bolingbrook. Meghan Griffin had a double and Kelsey Gonzalez a triple, and Alyssa Wunderlich struck out eight for the Redhawks.
Timothy Christian 8, Immaculate Conception 7: Janna Strodtman tripled in Kari LeGrand and scored the eventual winning run in the bottom of the sixth on a Christine Lemon grounder up the middle. Winning pitcher Strodtman went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI. Katelynn Conenna's 2-run homer in the top of the sixth tied it, and a triple by IC's Maria Kieliszewski put the Knights ahead 7-6. Nina Vlahiotis and Brianna Iosco each had 2 hits for IC (0-2).
Lisle 9, Aurora Central 1: Mackenzie Buchelt slugged a 3-run homer and drove in 5 runs for the Lions (1-1). Winning pitcher Melanie Early and Jackie Todd each chipped in 2 hits.
Riverside-Brookfield 10, Willowbrook 3: Nicole Interrante went 2-for-3 for the Warriors (1-1).
