Annual Ugly Xmas Crawl raises money for charity

On December 21st, 2013 the 5th Annual McHenry Ugly Xmas Sweater Pub Crawl took place at local establishments in McHenry.

Unlike past years, this year, the sweater crawl focused on raising money for Pizzas4Patriots, a nonprofit organization based out of Elk Grove Village that ships Chicago style pizzas overseas to our troops.

There were roughly 145 participants who donned their Xmas flair to support the cause. Participants gathered at the Town Club at 8 p.m. and then moved to Corkscrew Point, Old Bridge, Fox Hole, Polish Legion for American Veterans (PLAV), the Gambler, and Buddyz.

Overall the event was a success and raised well over $1,000 through T-shirt sales and donations from the establishments.

Our largest donor was the PLAV whose support for this cause and numerous others should be commended.

We look forward to working with these establishments in the future, along with Sergeant Evans at Pizzas4Patriots.
