CLC's virtual gala raises funds for student success

In these uncertain times, are you looking for a way to help others continue their path toward a college education and a better life? The College of Lake County Foundation's virtual "No-Gala" Gala, which takes place through April 27, offers a chance to support life-changing scholarships and grants for scores of students.

The virtual "No-Gala" Gala replaces the annual in-person gala planned for April 18 but was cancelled due to COVID-19. The week-long event offers numerous ways to come together online, said Kurt Peterson, executive director of the CLC Foundation. The online fundraising event celebrates CLC's commitment to its students and the college's 50 years of educating students in Lake County.

There are several ways to engage and support the Foundation's mission:

Buy tickets for a 50/50 cash and prize raffle

Watch inspirational videos from student scholarship recipients, alumni testimonials and messages from college leadership

Make an online contribution in support of student success

Follow the CLC Foundation on Facebook

To help stop the spread of COVID-19, CLC moved classes to an alternative delivery model and canceled all in-person events. This ensures even though CLC's campuses are not physically accessible during this time, dedicated staff and faculty are working remotely to support students.

"Our supporters play an integral part of the Lancers Keep Learning efforts during these challenging and uncertain times," Peterson said. "By making a gift to us, especially during the 'No-Gala' Gala, you're ensuring vital resources are available to our students for continued access and success. We truly appreciate everyone's support."
