McHenry County Jewish Congregation to host Casino Night April 28

The McHenry County Jewish Congregation will host a Casino Entertainment Night & Fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the McHenry Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, 3002 W. Route 120 in McHenry. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The event is open to all adults (over age 18) who are interested in a fun night of casino entertainment, food, drink and raffle prizes.

A $50 pre-purchased ticket ($60 at the door) will entitle guests to two free drink tickets, dinner and 100 chips to be used at the casino tables.

Games will include craps, roulette, blackjack and poker. Chips won at the tables will be turned in at the end of the night in exchange for raffle tickets, and raffle items will be on display during the event. Raffle donations and event sponsorships are being sought.

A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the religious school. It is an independent community synagogue that serves Jews of all backgrounds. Interfaith families are welcome.

A community potluck Shabbat is offered at 6:30 p.m. Fridays. Rabbi Tom Samuels leads services at 9:30 a.m. Saturdays.

The McHenry County Jewish Congregation is located on Ridgefield Road in unincorporated Crystal Lake, accessible from Route 14.
