Marquette University joins CLC's Guaranteed Transfer Admission program
The College of Lake County and Marquette University in Milwaukee recently signed a Guaranteed Transfer Admission agreement. CLC students who transfer to Marquette to complete a bachelor's degree will be guaranteed acceptance while completing the requirements in their particular degree.
"This is the first partnership of its type Marquette has signed, and we are thrilled it's with College of Lake County," said Adam Stout, assistant dean/transfer coordinator at Marquette. "CLC students have proven to be academically prepared for the rigors of the Marquette classroom and are some of the strongest transfer students to enroll at MU. A formal agreement that guarantees admission to Marquette ensures there is a clear degree pathway for the best and brightest CLC students."
CLC President Jerry Weber said that Marquette University is a great addition to CLC's Guaranteed Transfer Admission program due to its academic reputation, breadth of degree programs and close proximity. In addition, CLC students will be considered for the Pere Marquette Scholarship and transfer scholarships.
"We can now offer qualified students an opportunity to plan their transfer to Marquette several semesters in advance and to take advantage of advising from both institutions," Weber said.
Stout said that many College of Lake County students choose Marquette University to finish their bachelor's degree. "We're a short 50 minutes north of CLC's Grayslake Campus, making Marquette attractive to those students looking for a private, residential campus in their backyard," he said.
