College of DuPage to Host 22nd Annual Asia Symposium March 11

College of DuPage will host the 22nd annual Asia Symposium "Dynamic Korea: History, Economics and the Arts" on Tuesday, March 11, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Student Resource Center, Room 2000, on the College's main campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., in Glen Ellyn.

This event, hosted by the Asia Committee and sponsored by the College's Field Studies/Study Abroad office, will feature presentations and shows related to Korean culture, history and art presented throughout the day.

Following a welcome from College of DuPage President Dr. Breuder and introductory statements delivered by Professor of Psychology Naheed Hasan and Professor of Philosophy Keith Krasemann, a number of distinguished speakers from COD, DePaul University, Georgetown University and the University of Chicago will deliver presentations covering a variety of topics, including the armistice in Korea and the economic relationship between North and South Korea. In addition, this event will feature a Korean cultural show, a Korean film show and a martial arts demonstration.

The Asia Committee at College of DuPage was established with the goal of fostering a richer understanding and appreciation of the cultures of Asia through interdisciplinary events that incorporate diverse fields such as anthropology, art, economics, history, literature, philosophy, political science and psychology.
