Nick Yangas pitched a 1-hitter with 10 strikeouts and a walk in 5 innings.St. Francis 6, Plano 3:Alex Alcantara and Jack Ciombor each had 2 hits and Jack Petrando drove in 2 runs for the Spartans (18-11) in their victory in the Class 3A Kaneland regional semifinals. Winning pitcher Jason Sullivan scattered 6 hits.Downers South 8, Plainfield East 4:Joe Becht#146;s 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning put the Mustangs (29-6) ahead to stay in their Class 4A Hinsdale Central regional semifinal victory. Zack Burdi pitched 4 innings to earn the victory while Danny Mayer closed the game with three scoreless innings of relief.Plainfield North 4, Naperville North 0:The Huskies (16-12) saw their season end in the Class 4A Naperville Central regional semifinals after Plainfield North pitcher Zach Zyburt scattered 4 hits in a complete-game effort.
