Local Girl Scouts to fly high with Chicago Area Ninety-Nines Sept. 29

Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois is working with the Chicago Area Ninety-Nines to host a workshop for 100 Girl Scout Juniors (girls in grades 4–5) on Saturday, September 29, 9 A.M.–12:30 P.M., at the DuPage County Airport, 2700 International Drive in West Chicago. This is the last opportunity for girls to earn the Girl Scout Junior Aerospace Badge! Members of the Ninety-Nines will lead stations including principles of aerodynamics, building a paper airplane, learning about the history of women in aviation and more.

The Ninety-Nines was founded in 1929 by a group of pioneering women aviators and today includes more than 6,000 members throughout the world. Members are flight teachers, technicians, mechanics and professional pilots for airlines, industry and government. Most of all they are women who love to fly and share their passion with the next generation of women pilots.
