Auditions for COD Fall College Theatre Sept. 8-9

General auditions for College of DuPage College Theatre's fall productions of “The Nerd” and “A Christmas Carol” will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 in Building K, Room 103, on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

Larry Shue's “The Nerd” will be staged Oct. 19 to 28. Directed by COD College Theatre Director Connie Canaday Howard, “The Nerd” is a madcap comedy about Willum Cubbert's first meeting with the soldier who saved his life in Vietnam.

Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol” will be staged Nov. 22 to Dec. 2. Adapted by William J. Norris and directed by COD Associate Theatre Professor Amelia Barrett, Dicken's holiday classic follows Ebenezer Scrooge's last chance at redemption as he examines his life with the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

Auditions for both productions include cold readings with optional monologues. No experience is necessary. Copies of the “The Nerd” are on reserve in the College Library. “Christmas Carol” auditions on Sept. 8 and 9 are for adults only. Young actors will audition at a later date.
