Advocate Condell to offer free glucose screenings

Advocate Condell Medical Center is offering free health screenings at local events in the coming weeks.

Condell will offer a finger-stick test to measure blood glucose. High blood glucose levels are most commonly linked to pre-diabetes or diabetes. Results will be available immediately.

Participants must fast for at least 8 hours prior to screening. Screenings will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Screenings are being offered at the following health fairs:

• State Rep. Sandy Cole's Women & Senior Health & Wellness Fair. 9 am-noon on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Round Lake Beach Civic Center, 2006 N. Civic Center Way.

• State Sen. Dan Duffy and State Rep. Ed Sullivan's Senior Health Fair. 9 am-noon on Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Libertyville Sports Complex, Peterson Road and Route 45 in Libertyville.
