Advocate Condell to Offer Summer Safety Tips at Farmers Market
Advocate Condell affiliated Pediatrician Dr. Sara Parvinian will provide summer safety tips at the hospital booth's at the Mundelein Farmers Market on June 8.
Dr. Parvinian, board certified in Pediatric Medicine, will have information on sun and heat safety, and bicycle safety. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions, and receive safety and other general health and hospital service info. There also will be giveaways.
“Summer is a fun time for children and families, but parents have to make sure their children don't overdo it. Too much time in the sun can be dangerous,” Parvinian said. “And bicycle accidents are one of the leading causes of childhood injury. It's important to know how to have fun but stay safe.”
Dr. Parvinian will be available at the market from 3-4:30 pm.
Advocate Condell Medical Center is the exclusive Sprout Sponsor of the Mundelein Farmers Market, which runs June through October on every Friday from 3 to 7 pm in downtown Mundelein, one block south of Route 176 and one block east of Route 45. The Mundelein Farmers Market Committee's goal is to provide a wide variety of fresh produce and unique food products in a fun, family friendly environment with convenient access. Each week, a different local business and non-profit organization is featured.

Advocate Condell will have a booth at the market once a month, with a different theme and featured clinician. Upcoming programs include:
• Healthy Summer Eating. Friday, July 20, 3-7 pm, downtown Mundelein. This program will focus on how you can use fresh produce to enhance a healthy summer diet. Representatives from Advocate Health Care's Wellness Services will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.
• Back To School. Friday, August 3, 3-7 pm, downtown Mundelein. This program will outline health steps to take before school starts again, and include ideas for healthy school lunches. Sara Parvinian, MD, board certified in pediatrics, will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.
• 10,000 Steps to Health. Friday, September 7, 3-7 pm, downtown Mundelein. Advocate Condell's Cardiac Rehab clinicians will explain how taking 10,000 steps per day can improve overall health.
• Breast Cancer Awareness. Friday, October 4, 3-7 pm, downtown Mundelein. This program will focus on breast cancer awareness. Monica Rettig, Advocate Condell's Breast Center Nurse Navigator, will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.
