COD medical imaging students win state awards
College of DuPage Diagnostic Medical Imaging – Radiography students took top honors in three categories during the spring Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists conference.
COD's Scholar Bowl team brought home first place, competing against 10 other teams and winning during a sudden-death tiebreaker. Team members were Jamie Neis of Winfield, Michael Quesea of Addison, Bryan Salis of Lombard and Michael Wilson of Brookfield.
In the Scientific Paper category, COD students swept the top three prizes. First place went to Kathleen Kenny of Naperville, second to Myia Lortz-Padilla of Willowbrook, and third to Wilson.
It was a double victory for Kenny, who also took first place honors in the Pathology Poster category. Meghan Alberson of Willow Springs earned fourth place. Kenny and Alberson competed against 37 other students from around the state.
College of DuPage Radiography students have received at least one award in the paper and poster categories for 10 consecutive years.
