Motion Picture/TV Animation Night 2012 to spotlight COD students

Animation students in College of DuPage's Motion Picture/TV program will present Animation Night 2012, a screening of animated short films at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, in the Studio Theater at the McAninch Arts Center.

The third annual event will showcase the final projects of the program's graduating students. Display booths will be set up in the lounge next to the Studio Theater, where students will talk about their work informally.

“During the screening, I'll introduce the filmmakers, show the films and then have each student field questions from the audience,” said Tony Venezia, associate professor and coordinator of the MPTV program. “We'll also have two industry professionals critiquing each project.”

Despite being relatively new, the event continues to draw attention, as more than 80 people attended last year.

“I'm really impressed with what our students are doing,” Venezia said. “Last year, people were just amazed by the films.”
