Waterleaf Restaurant Presents 'Night at the Movies' With Dean Richards on Feb. 10
Waterleaf restaurant invites movie and Oscar lovers to attend “A Night at the Movies” dinner and Academy Awards discussion with Dean Richards, WGN entertainment reporter and critic, on Friday, Feb. 10.
The evening kicks off at 7 p.m. in the Culinary & Hospitality Center (CHC) amphitheater with wine and hors d'oeuvres from Waterleaf. Chicago movie producer John Digles will discuss the film industry, followed by Richards' presentation about this year's Oscar-nominated films.
Guests will then cross the corridors of the CHC to enjoy an exclusive three-course prix fixe dinner at Waterleaf, complete with wine pairings and continued discussion with Richards.
Richards is an Emmy Award-winning entertainment reporter and critic. Since joining WGN Radio in 1994, he has won more than 30 local and national awards for programming and production, including the Peter Lisagor Award for Outstanding Journalism and the Associated Press Best Feature of the Year.
Richards has hosted and co-produced specials such as the award-winning “Bozo, Gar & Ray: WGN TV Classics” and the Oscar preview special “The Envelope Please.”
Digles, founder of Traveller Jones Productions, is an award-winning filmmaker and movie producer. His debut feature film, “Design,” airs on the Sundance Channel and his WWII veteran documentary, “The 95th,” screens on PBS and Hulu. Elected by the film community to the board of the Illinois Production Alliance, Digles helped gain legislative approval of Illinois' first film production tax incentive which helped attract major Hollywood pictures such as “The Dark Knight” and “Transformers” to Chicago and generated a record-setting statewide increase in revenues and new jobs.
Featuring locally grown, seasonal ingredients and precise service, Waterleaf is a fine-dining restaurant that offers a contemporary approach to cuisine led by Executive Chef Jean-Louis Clerc.
