'Footloose' musical playing at Cutting Hall Aug. 5-14

Up and Coming Theatre is proud to present "Footloose" at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Aug. 5-14, at Cutting Hall Theatre, 150 E. Wood St. in Palatine. Up and Coming Theatre is the 2009 Illinois Theatre Association's winner for Excellence in Theatre, Community Theatre Division.

Get ready to "Cut Loose" as Up and Coming Theatre presents the musical stage version of this beloved 1984 foot-tapping film in which the music-loving city slicker Ren McCormack finds himself having trouble adjusting to his new life in small-town Texas.

To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated top 40 score (the soundtrack album reached number one on the Billboard charts and has sold over 15 million copies) and augmented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical. Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

Tickets are $17 in advance or $19 at the door.
