The Dukes (6-0, 2-0) shut out the Huskies for the second straight day, this time with Chris Jennings (2-0) pitching 6 strong innings. Jake Rzeszutko went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI. Joe Paparone also drove in 2 runs.
Naperville Central 6, Joliet Catholic 2:
Ian Lewandowski (2-0) scattered 3 hits over 6 innings and Dan Ludwig struck out two in the seventh for the Redhawks (4-2). Brian Schiemann went 2-for-2 with a double and 4 RBI.
Glenbard South 8, Riverside-Brookfield 5:
Three runs in the top of the seventh inning put the Raiders (4-3, 1-0) ahead to stay in their Metro Suburban Conference road win. Justin Joseph went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI while Zach Bava added 2 hits and scored twice. Brian Suffern (3-0) was the complete-game winning pitcher, striking out 10.
Wheaton Academy 16, Immaculate Conception 7:
Trailing 5-2, the Warriors (5-2, 2-0) exploded for 7 runs in the top of the fifth inning to seize control in their Suburban Christian Gold victory. Drew Sandberg, Trevor Swaney, Alec McNally and Matt Brandys had 3 hits apiece. Tate Fritz had 2 hits and 5 RBI as part of Wheaton Academy’s 22-hit outburst. Dylan D’Angelo went 2-for-4 with a triple and 3 RBI for Immaculate Conception (4-6, 0-2).

Winning pitcher Troy Ellens (1-0) went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI as the Trojans (2-0, 1-0) won their opener in the Metro Suburban Conference. Rigo Trujillo went 3-for-4 for Fenton (2-4, 0-1).

The Warriors (6-1, 3-0) completed a three-game West Suburban Gold sweep behind a 2-hitter with 9 strikeouts from Tom Van Kooten (1-0). Nick Petruzzi, Van Kooten and Dan Fahlgren each had 2 RBI in the five-inning victory.
