Benet tops Naperville North

Benet 13, Naperville North 3:

The Redwings (4-2) exploded for 5 runs in the second and fourth inning to seize command at Naperville North (1-3). Nick Moore went 2-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBI. Andrew Jachna, Andrew Mogni and Matt Dorsett also drove in 2 runs apiece in Benet’s 16-hit barrage. Mariano Long and Alex Moss drove in the Huskies’ runs. Chris Sanderson pitched 6 innings to earn the victory.

Glenbard North 10, Conant 2:

Evin Natick doubled, homered and drove in 2 runs as the Panthers (4-2) rolled to victory. Brandon Clark and Josh Shine also had 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Will Petrosky scattered 7 hits over 5 innings.

Willowbrook 18-7, Proviso East 7-0:

The Warriors (5-1, 2-0) opened West Suburban Gold play with a doubleheader sweep of the host Pirates. Alex Aiello went 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI in the opener while Tom Van Kooten went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Game 2. Danny Johnson and Matt Tiberi were the winning pitchers.

Wheaton North 11, Glenbrook South 2:

Ryan Kent doubled twice and drove in 3 runs for the visiting Falcons (2-2). Jake Schieber homered and had 3 RBI. Winning pitcher Craig Berberich struck out five and walked none in 6 innings.

Metea Valley 18, Oswego East 2:

Ryan Solomon went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and 6 RBI as the Mustangs (2-1) cruised to a five-inning win. Kenny Obendorf and Mike Fitzgerald each had 2 RBI. Tom Bolle notched the win with 7 strikeouts and no walks in 4 innings of work.

Lake Park 5-2, Glenbard East 2-1:

The Lancers (3-2) notched a sweep of the Rams (3-3) with a pair of close wins. Jake Pygman went 2-for-4 and Max Boryszewski had 2 RBI in the opener. Ed Vatch doubled and scored both runs for the Lancers in Game 2.
