Neuqua Valley (1-0) broke a 1-1 tie by scoring twice in the fifth and once in the sixth inning on its way to a 4-2 nonconference win over Hinsdale Central (0-2) in high school baseball Monday.

Kevin Hodgman pitched 5 innings for the victory. Chris Medhurst doubled and drove in 2 runs while Nick Blackburn went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Matt Anderson went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Red Devils.

Glenbard South 4, Warren 2:

Brian Suffern (2-0) allowed no earned runs in his complete-game win in Marion. Ethan Gasbarro put the Raiders (2-1) ahead 3-2 in the fifth inning with a 2-run single.

Glenbard North 10, Plainfield Central 9:

The Panthers (2-0) scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning of the nonconference game. Evin Natick went 4-for-4 with a double, home run and 2 RBI. Brandon Clark and Brandon Villanueva also homered and combined for 7 RBI. Bryan Polowy (1-0) pitched 3-plus innings of relief to win on the mound.

Wheaton North 3, Christian Brothers (Tenn.) 1:

Ryan Kent singled and drove in 2 runs as the Falcons (1-0) scored all their runs in the second inning of their win in Memphis. Eric Scandora started and earned the victory.

Fenton 17, Sandwich 5:

Sparked by a pair of 6-run innings, the Bison (2-0) scored all their runs in the first four innings of their five-inning nonconference victory. Roman Castellanos homered and David Savoia picked up the win.

Downers Grove South 9, Bighton (Colo.) 1:

Kyle Engel went 3-for-5 with a double and 5 RBI as the Mustangs (2-0) won in Arizona. Nick Burdi improved to 2-0, striking out nine over 5 innings.

Downers Grove North 2, WW South 1:

The Trojans (1-0) won with a run in the bottom of the 10th inning. Dave Wilk pitched 5 innings of scoreless relief and went 2-for-4 at the plate. Jeremy Rhoades, who started and struck out seven with no walks in 8 innings, drove in the lone run for the Tigers (0-1).
