Godinez goes cycling for Immaculate Conception

Jose Godinez hit for the cycle as Immaculate Conception (21-9, 10-3) picked up an 11-1 victory over Aurora Central Catholic in Suburban Christian Conference play Monday.

Godinez singled in the first inning, homered in the third, doubled in the fourth and tripled in the sixth inning. Winning pitcher Kevin Nutley (4-2) struck out 11. Steve Maloney went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.

Benet 7, Nazareth 3: Connor Reilly went 3-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI for the Redwings (9-12, 4-5) in their East Suburban Catholic Conference win. Mike Chiaro (3-2) scattered 5 hits in a complete-game effort.

Lisle 12, Westmont 1: Winning pitcher Jon Surber (5-0), who struck out nine and walked none, went 4-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBI as the Lions (17-7, 7-3) rolled in the Interstate Eight Conference. Will DeCraene and Alec Blechschmidt had 3 hits apiece and Stephen Accetturo went 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI.

Wheaton North 8, WW South 6: The Falcons (20-4, 10-2) pulled within a game of first place in the DuPage Valley Conference by beating the host Tigers (11-12, 4-8) in nine innings. Mike Small and Mike Coduto each had 2 hits and combined to score 5 runs. Winning pitcher Eric Scandora went the distance for Wheaton North, striking out nine. Steve Lemm and Kyle Snow each drove in 2 runs for the Tigers.

Glenbard North 10, Glenbard East 0: Andrew Bergmann (7-2) pitched a 6-inning 1-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Panthers (15-9, 7-5) in their DuPage Valley Conference victory. Brandon Clark went 2-for-2 with a homer and 2 RBI.

West Chicago 8, West Aurora 5: A 5-run fifth inning allowed the Wildcats (9-12, 3-9) to rally for a DuPage Valley Conference win. Blair Skarin went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and 4 RBI. Kevin Peterson went 4-for-4 and Louis Diaz added 3 hits. Colton Reif was the complete-game winning pitcher.

Hinsdale Central 13, Glenbard West 11: Alex Tufano and Chris BoBo homered for the Red Devils (9-12, 4-7 West Suburban Silver Conference). Peter Marquardt pitched 4 innings of relief to notch the win. Ben Krusen went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI for Glenbard West (9-12, 4-7).

Maine South 7, Fenton 6: Michael Mach went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles as the Bison (8-13) fell in the nonconference game.

Aurora Christian 6, Wheaton Academy 5: The Warriors (15-10, 7-5) scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and twice in the seventh but couldn't cap the rally in the Suburban Christian Conference. Ryan Dzingel went 4-for-4.
