Fenton makes landmark comeback

Calling it possibly "the greatest comeback in over 50 years of Fenton basketball," coach Dennis Cromer's Bison came from 24 points down to defeat Nazareth 47-46 at the eighth annual Glenbard West Holiday Classic. Fenton (5-5) trailed 35-11 late in the third quarter but scored the last 10 points of the quarter to enter the fourth trailing 35-21. Behind a half-court trap and Dan Montano's five straight 3-point baskets - Vince Esposito added another - Fenton took a 43-42 lead with just over a minute remaining. Montano scored 17 of his team-high 20 points in the fourth quarter. Emeka Umeadi scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half. Nazareth's record fell to 4-6.

Glenbard West 54, West Chicago 43: Claiming its first victory at winless West Chicago's expense, Holiday Classic host Glenbard West (1-8) made 19 of 27 free throws to 5 of 9 for the Wildcats (0-10). Hilltopper Tyler Warden led all scorers with 22 points; sophomore twins Matthew and Michael Mache scored 12 and 10, respectively. Charles Jacques' 14 points led West Chicago.

St. Francis 67, Aurora Christian 56: In a Suburban Christian Conference crossover in Aurora, St. Francis (3-5) went to its big men: Joe Pfeiffer with 23 points, Ryan Coyle with 17 while guard Mark Schmitt added 12. Aurora Christian (4-5) got 15 points from C.J. Schutt and 14 from Jake Hanson.
