Boo Bash fundraiser in Lindenhurst

In hopes of raising $15,000 to purchase an allergy sniffing dog for their daughter Kate, the Slobodian family of Lindenhurst is planning a Boo Bash fundraising party from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Hastings Lake YMCA, 1995 Grass Lake Road, Lake Villa. Music, games, raffles, face-painting and more are planned. The 3-year-old girl suffers from life-threatening allergies and has to be monitored constantly. But now, a Colorado-based organization is training dogs to sniff out potentially dangerous substances. The Slobodians hope to purchase one of the service dogs in the coming months.
