Tuesday's Fox Valley roundup

Burlington Central d. Marengo: The Rockets (20-7, 7-1) continued to stay hot at the service line recording 14 aces en route to a 25-14, 25-11 Big Northern East victory over Marengo Tuesday night.

Senior outside hitters Stephanie Holthus (9 kills, 7 aces, 5 digs) and Taylor Scully (5 kills, 3 aces) led the way for the Rockets while Samantha Bohne added 6 digs defensively. Audrey Djukic and Sydney Sand also chipped in 3 kills apiece.

Cary-Grove d. Jacobs: The Trojans (27-4, 7-0) remained undefeated in Fox Valley Valley play as they defeated the Golden Eagles (11-20, 1-6) in a close 25-18, 25-20 match on the road. Kayla Klinger and Kelly Lamberti each recorded 9 kills while Abbey Heredia added 22 assists. Colleen Smith led the Trojan defense with 8 digs. Quinn Luehring led Jacobs with a team-high 15 assists and 12 digs.

South Elgin d. Streamwood: The Storm (8-16-1, 2-6) picked up a victory over Upstate Eight Conference foe Streamwood, defeating the Sabres 25-21, 25-18 to earn their second conference victory of the season. Alyssa Krause led all players with 10 kills on the night while Courtney Sanocki chipped in 17 assists for the Storm. South Elgin was led defensively by Sarah Havermann who recorded 15 digs. The Sabres were paced by Melissa Oehlerking who registered 13 kills and 10 digs, and Alyson Montemayor, who added 12 assists, 2 kills, and 2 aces.

Hampshire d. Harvard: The Whip-Purs (23-2, 7-0) pulled out a tough 25-16, 19-25, 25-15 road victory against Harvard to remain undefeated in the Big Northern East. Amy Wehrs recorded a team-high 13 kills while Kara Wehrs added 12 kills and 12 assists in the victory.

Crystal Lake South d. Dundee-Crown: The Gators (21-5, 6-1) continued their dominate play cruising to an easy 25-7, 25-11 Fox Valley Valley victory at home against the Chargers (7-14, 0-7). Caitlin Schumacher led the Gators with a match-high 13 kills while Chelsea Sirovatka added 20 assists. Brittany Atkinson and Sirovatka also recorded 5 aces a piece for Crystal Lake South. The Chargers were led by Alexis Holm and Alyssa Sarrazine, who each registered 4 kills.

McHenry d. Huntley: The Red Raiders (20-7, 3-4) suffered a tough 25-19, 25-23 loss to McHenry at home in this Fox Valley Valley matchup. Amy Dion and Ashley Smith shared team-high honors recording 5 kills apiece for Huntley. Dion also led the Red Raiders defensively with 15 digs while Amanda Carroll added 14 assists.
