Cary-Grove 1, McHenry 0: The Trojans (12-1, 8-0) remained undefeated in Fox Valley (Valley) play Tuesday afternoon defeating McHenry 1-0 on the road. Defense played a large roll in this game as neither team was able to get on the scoreboard in the first half. Matt Latawiec scored the lone goal of the game with just over 18 minutes left in the second half. Will Higgins preserved the shutout in goal recording 4 saves.
Bartlett 5, Elgin 1: The Hawks (10-4, 5-2) came out strong and used a balanced offensive attack to lead to a 5-1 victory over the Maroons in this Upstate Eight Conference match. Brian Roman was able to get Bartlett on the board just 8 minutes into the game off a feed from Alex Ortiz. Joe McCullough then found the back of the net on an assist from Ramiro Arroyo to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead heading into the half. Carmelo Abate, Mike DiNuzzo, and Marino Zaccaro all recorded second half goals for Bartlett while Anthony DiNuzzo and Roman added 1 assist each to secure Bartlett's victory.
Crystal Lake South 4, Huntley 1: The Gators (15-3-2, 7-1) wasted no time getting on the board as they handled the Red Raiders 4-1 in Fox Valley (Valley) action. Carey Bienert led the Gator offense recording 2 goals while Adam Gatza added 2 assists. Alex Tapia and Andrew Guminski also recorded goals for the Gators, and Charlie Oliver added 1 assist. Javier Diaz scored Huntley's lone goal in the second half off a penalty kick.
St. Edward 3, Aurora Christian 1: The Green Wave (4-14, 2-7) picked up a Suburban Christian Conference victory over visiting Aurora Christian 3-1. David Smith scored 2 first half goals on assists by Nick Semler and Logan Johnson. Alex Ptak recorded an insurance goal in the second half off an assist from goalie Jim Cholewa. Cholewa also recorded 4 saves in goal for the win.
Westminster Christian 7, Christian Liberty Academy 0: The Warriors (11-3-1, 3-1) cruised to an easy 7-1 victory over Christian Liberty Academy in this Northeastern Athletic Conference matchup. Josh Beachler and Ryan Beachler led the Warriors offensively scoring 2 goals each. Luke Carani, Ishmael Yemoah, and Ian Dutcher also recorded goals for Westminster Christian. Josh Sutarik preserved the shutout in goal recording 6 saves.
Morgan Park Academy 3, Elgin Academy 2: Despite a late second half charge, the Hilltoppers (5-7, 2-4) fell on the road 3-2 to Morgan Park Academy. Brandon Perez and Nick Garcia each recorded a goal for Elgin Academy in the second half while goalie Martin Deleon registered 9 saves in goal.
