Lake Co. fundraisers

Events that raise money for some type of charity, including galas, golf outings, rummage sales, shopping events, fashion shows, picnics and sport nights. Deadline is two weeks before event date.

Sept. 2

Charity softball game: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, Emmerich Park, Raupp Blvd. and Lake Cook Road, Buffalo Grove. The Buffalo Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and the employees and elected officials of Buffalo Grove will hold a softball game to benefit the Buffalo Grove Chaplaincy program. Sept. 3

Flower sale: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, Advocate Condell Medical Center, 755 S. Milwaukee Ave, Libertyville. Fall mums will be for sale in various sizes and colors outside of the hospital main entrance. Proceeds benefit Advocate Condell Medical Center. Call (847) 990-5615.

Sept. 4

Mike Klopp benefit: 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, Sharky's, at Lakes Bowl, 601 Railroad Ave., Round Lake. A benefit to raise money for Mike Klopp, who has been battling brain cancer for 31/2 years, and his family. Event will include a DJ, silent auction, raffles and silent auction with sports memorabilia and an autographed guitar. $10 per person. Call (847) 529-0646.

Patriot Golf Day: Friday through Monday, Sept. 4-7, Steeple Chase Golf Club, 200 N. La Vista Drive, Mundelein. Patriot Golf Day helps raise funds for the Folds of Honor Foundation, a nonprofit corporation that provides postsecondary education scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving their country. Sept. 8

Bunco Night: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, Libertyville Civic Center, 135 W. Church St., Libertyville. The Libertyville Junior Woman's Club will host a Bunco Night beginning with refreshments at 7 p.m. followed by bunco and a club meeting from 7:30-9 p.m. A $5 donation is welcomed; proceeds will support a local charity nominated by game participants. Golf for 4-H: Check-in at 11:30 a.m., tee time 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, Antioch Golf Club, 40150 N Route 59, Antioch. 4-H Golf Classic and Dinner, to benefit University of Illinois Extension, Lake County 4-H community clubs and after-school programs. It Can Be Done: Mondays and Tuesdays, Francesca's Intimo, 293 E Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Francesca's Intimo has agreed to donate 15 percent of patrons' bills to the nonprofit organization It Can Be Done! on Mondays and Tuesdays if the customer mentions the organization to a restaurant employee. The proceeds will benefit the purchasing of a drill to construct wells throughout the 12 villages of Uru on Mount Kilimanjaro, providing the 30,000 people living there with freshwater.
