Lake Park sets back St. Charles East

Lake Park 6, St. Charles East 2: Kelly Mieszala went 3-for-4 with a double, 2 runs batted in and 1 run scored and Carly Willert went 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored for the Lancers (18-9, 12-5 Upstate Eight Conference), who dropped St. Charles East a game and a half back of conference leader St. Charles North. Lake Park broke the game open with a 4-run second inning.

Waubonsie Valley 2, Larkin 1: Lisa Corrigan drove in both of the Warriors' runs, and Lindsey Jozefowicz (7-8) struck out six for Waubonsie Valley (11-18, 7-10 UEC).

Glenbard South 3, Sycamore 2: Jenny Wittenberg and Kristin Grossman both went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Raiders (16-12, 9-2 Western Sun Conference), who maintained their one-game lead on Kaneland.

Wheaton North 6, Glenbard East 1: Kelsey Ullrich homered, doubled twice and drove in 3 runs for the Falcons (21-8, 9-4 DuPage Valley Conference). Rachel Holaway also doubled twice. Megan Shannon went 2-for-3 for Glenbard East.

Morton 2, Downers Grove South 1: Carly Clements doubled in Vlasta Mangia with two outs in the bottom of the eighth for Morton, which pulled into a tie with the Mustangs (21-7, 10-1 West Suburban Gold) for the conference lead. Brooke Andresen had both of Downers Grove South's hits.

Montini 4, St. Ignatius 2: Tori Shipbaugh went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI for the Broncos (18-6), who scored 2 runs in the first inning and 2 more in the second.

Lisle 6, Westmont 0: Bekka Houda (15-8) struck out 11 in a 2-hit shutout for the Lions (24-10), who advanced to Saturday's championship game of the Class 2A Timothy Christian regional. Mackenzie Buchelt went 2-for-4 and scored 2 runs and Jackie Todd 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI.

Addison Trail 1, Hinsdale South 0: Nikki Zdrahel went 3-for-3 for the Blazers and scored the game's only run.

Fenton 11, Proviso West 7: Samantha Rubright slugged a 3-run homer in a 6-run Bison fifth inning. McKall and Taylor Pugliese each went 2-for-3 and scored 2 runs for Fenton.
