Take a Step for Kids: Day-of-event registration begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, April, Independence Grove Forest Preserve, 16400 W Buckley Road, Libertyville. Community Youth Network's 5K/10K Run and 5K Walk will raise money to help children and families who have been victims of abuse. Start time is 9 a.m. for runners, 9:15 a.m. for walkers. Registration is $30.
