• Order tickets by Monday, Nov. 3, for HOPE Fair Housing Center's 40th anniversary benefit dinner Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Hyatt Lisle, 1400 Corporetum Drive. The keynote speaker will be Shanna L. Smith, president and CEO of the National Fair Housing Alliance. Tickets cost $60. HOPE Fair Housing Center is a not-for-profit organization serving residents of DuPage, Kane, McHenry and west and northwest Cook Counties who experience housing discrimination. • Festival of Flavor, an event to benefit Adventist GlenOaks Hospital, will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Medinah Shrine Center, 550 Shriners Drive, Addison. The event will include a variety of food prepared by local restaurants. Tickets cost $50; proceeds will help purchase a new Zeiss microscope for the hospital's surgical services department. • Catholic Charities will present "Playing for Miracles," a dueling pianos concert, on Friday, Oct. 10, at Ashton Place, 341 W. 75th St., Willowbrook. • The Roselle Police Department's second annual Badge and Nozzle 16-inch softball tournament begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Clauss Recreation Center, 555 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Roselle. • In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Salon 21 will hold a fall wig and extension show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at the salon, 32 Danada Square West, Wheaton.
