Learn to promote and protect pollinators at May 22 program
With publicity about declining honeybee and Monarch butterfly populations, more people are becoming interested in learning about and protecting our pollinators.
Join the University of Illinois Extension and the Conservation Foundation for an upcoming free program to get the buzz on pollinators.
Trish Beckjord of The Conservation Foundation and Midwest Groundcovers will present "What's the Buzz? Promoting and Protecting Pollinators" at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 22, at the U of I Extension office, 535 S. Randall Road, St. Charles. Participants will learn what you need to do to become certified as a "Conservation at Home" owner.
"Come to learn more about the world of pollinators and the key elements needed in a garden to create a healthy habitat," said Sarah Fellerer, U of I Extension Master Naturalist Program Coordinator for DuPage, Kane and Kendall Counties. "Our goal is to help community members understand how native plant choices support pollinators and how to add those plants to established home gardens."
