Music Mentors offers summer program

Crystal Lake area high school students are offering their services to Crystal Lake and surrounding area youth through the Music Mentors program. Music Mentors is for fifth- to eighth-grade students who are currently enrolled in their school band program.

Mentors will offer guidance and suggestions for students during the summer to hone their skills. There is no charge. Volunteer students will offer their time for half-hour a week for the summer to students who would like to brush up on their skills.

Lakeside Legacy Arts Park is generously offering their space for sessions to be given.

Mentors are offering their time to give back to their community.

Students will be given half-hour of guidance and suggestions by volunteers who are currently involved in high school band. The time could be a group or individual session. It would depend on number of participants and instruments. This program will run through the summer. It offers participants the opportunity to keep their skills going over the summer, as well as receiving tips and suggestions to improve their skills. Times and dates will be determined.
