Nov. 12: CLC hosts Open House

Current high school students as well as adults will have the opportunity to learn about attending the College of Lake County at an open house to be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Grayslake campus, located at 19351 W. Washington St.

The event will provide an opportunity for those attending to talk with current students, admissions staff and faculty. Participants may take a campus tour and attend a student services fair to learn about support programs and campus life (everything from the Honors Program to campus clubs).

The Open House will provide answers to the questions that prospective students (and their parents) most frequently ask, all in a convenient two-hour program. Five different half-hour sessions will be offered:

Getting started and paying for college

Career planning and hot careers

Start hereā€•go there (transferring to a four-year college)

CLC student panel

Non-traditional careers for girls

In addition, students may visit with faculty and staff to learn about transfer and career programs in Biological and Health Sciences; Business; Communication Arts, Humanities and Fine Arts; Engineering, Math and Physical Sciences; and Social Sciences. Refreshments will be served.

Parking will be available in lots 7 and 7A, and visitors should enter at the C Wing.

Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call (847) 543-2090 or visit http://www.clcillinois.edu/openhouse.

Open registration for spring semester begins Nov. 11, and spring classes begin Jan. 21, 2014.
