District 300 to hold fine arts open house

The Community Unit District 300 Foundation for Educational Excellence and one of Carpentersville’s largest companies will partner to present the first open house for District 300 high school performing and fine arts students.

The “D300 Foundation Cultural Arts on the Fox” will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the newly renovated site of the old Illinois Iron and Bolt Foundry, 11 W. Main St., Carpentersville.

”Our cultural arts event will allow the public to hear and see the wonderful work being done in our District 300 schools for the performing and fine arts,” said Diane Magerko, D300 Foundation Performing and Fine Arts chair.

“This historical setting is the perfect venue to experience a night of vocals, music, drama and visual arts.”

The event will showcase high school students’ work in voice, music, drama and visual arts. Some high school art teachers will also be displaying their work.

Tom Roeser, owner of Otto Engineering, has renovated the site at 11 W. Main to a pristine level. Much of the original woodwork and bricks were used at the current site.
