Libertyville tops Carmel for win No. 20

Libertyville's girls basketball team reached the 20-win mark Tuesday night.

Savannah Trees' 12 points led the Wildcats to a 42-33 nonconference win over host Carmel.

It was the 14th consecutive win for Libertyville (20-4), which also received 9 points apiece from Olivia Wilcox and Kaca Savatic.

Erin Quinn scored 11 points for Carmel (11-12).

Wauconda 63, Glenbrook North 23: Wauconda dominated each quarter, including outscoring Glenbrook North 19-1 in the third to earn the nonconference win.

Kate Martino led Wauconda (16-4) with 13 points and also contributed 6 steals and 5 assists. Erinn Hellweg added 12 points and 5 rebounds. And Tammy Ellis contributed 10 points, 4 steals, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

Glenbrook North's high scorer was Rachel Blitt, who scored 7 points.

Round Lake 53, Waukegan 46: Krystal Pitts scored 18 points, and Chanae Brown added 16 to help the Panthers improve to 6-16.

Grant 39, Lake Forest Academy 31: While both teams scored 6 points in the first quarter, Grant accelerated from there and went on to win the nonconference game.

Heather Chapman scored 17 points for the Bulldogs (11-12), and Kassie Stimpson added 14.

Deerfield 47, Vernon Hills 38: Alana Coy scored 10 points, including two 3-pointers, for the Cougars (13-9).
