College of Lake County cancels April 7 board meeting, extends deadline for two trustee vacancies
The Board of Trustees of College of Lake County Community College District 532 scheduled board meeting on April 7 is canceled. The next board meeting will be April 21.
CLC recently announced two trustee vacancies created by the resignation of Dr. Catherine M. Finger and the passing of Timothy S. Powell. Dr. Finger was elected to the board in April 2017; her term of office expires in 2023. Mr. Powell was elected to the board in April 2019; his term of office expires in 2025. Individuals to fill these vacancies will be appointed by members of the current board and will serve as trustees until successors are elected to serve the remainder of the respective unexpired term at the next Consolidated General Election on April 6, 2021.
CLC is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees elected by the voters of Community College District 532. To be eligible to serve as a trustee, applicants must be: (1) a citizen of the United States; (2) 18 years or older; and (3) a resident of Illinois and District 532, which includes most of Lake County, Illinois, for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment.
The deadline to submit a letter of interest to fill these vacancies has been extended to April 9, 2020. The letter should state why the individual is interested in serving on the board, their relevant qualifications and experience, and any relationships or affiliations they have, or have had, with the college. It is anticipated that the board of trustees will appoint individuals to fill both vacancies from the pool of interested persons at its board meeting on April 21, 2020.

Applications to fill the vacancies on the board must be received by the college by 4 p.m. April 9, 2020, in order to be considered. If you already submitted a letter of interest in connection to CLC's previous announcement, you do not need to submit another one.
