Grayslake Arts Alliance plans January 14 show

A dozen local artists are expected to show their work during the Grayslake Arts Alliance members show Saturday, January 14, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Heritage Center, 164 Hawley Street, Grayslake.

This will be the second members show by the new community group, which is dedicated to promoting and bringing the arts to Grayslake through education, participation and development.

Sharon Rollins, Lee Lobeman, Ernest Schweit, Maureen Fisher Rivkin, Lily Gaines, Sherri Fowler, Heather June Toser, Leslie Armstrong, Rhonda Malic, Tina Baldwin, Rebecca Stahr and Janet Elliott are expected to show works in painting, mixed media and photography.

Music will be provided by students from the Chapin Jazz Studio and refreshments from Somethings Brewing and Uniquely Sweet will be on hand during this free event. An art station for children also will be provided.

The group was founded in August of 2016. Their first show, a Holiday Arts Show, was in November during the Grayslake Tree Lighting Festival where approximately 500 people attended.
