Lake County briefs
Central and north tollway work done
Work is now complete on the central and north Tri-State Tollway rebuilding and widening projects from Balmoral Avenue to the Wisconsin state line. Illinois State Toll Highway Authority officials announced the nearly $3 billion project came in on schedule and within budget. Some weather-dependent work, such as landscaping, will resume in the spring, but it won't affect traffic flow. "The completion of this four-year corridor-wide project between O'Hare International Airport and the Wisconsin state line will bring real congestion relief to commuters and long-distance travelers," said the tollway's acting executive director, Michael King.
CLC lands two new vice presidents
Completing two extensive national searches, the Grayslake-based College of Lake County board recently approved the appointment of new vice presidents for educational and administrative affairs. Richard Haney will be CLC's vice president for educational affairs. He had been in the post on an interim basis. David Agazzi, vice president of administrative services at Joliet Junior College, will assume the VP for administrative affairs post. In an e-mail to employees announcing the appointments, College of Lake County President Gerald Weber called Haney and Agazzi "exceptional community college leaders."
