Veteran's Day at CLC

The College of Lake County's annual Veterans Day Ceremony is set for noon Wednesday, Nov. 10, in room C 005 (C Wing Auditorium) on the Grayslake campus. The keynote speaker is Capt. Steven Bethke, USN Commander, Recruit Training Command, Naval Base Great Lakes.

The Navy base will provide a band and a color guard for the free public ceremony. Other speakers include: CLC President Jerry Weber; Shayln Caulley, CLC Student Government Association president; Dorsey Thomas, veteran's retention specialist and U.S. Army sergeant 1995-2001; and Erik Brown, CLC student and U.S. Air Force E-3, 2002-04.

The wreath bearers will be Steven Joseph, U.S. Navy E-6, 1984-04; and Neil Wolfe, U.S. Army E-6 staff sergeant, 2005-09. Bethke joined the Navy in 1988 and has earned several awards, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. His official Navy biography is www.bootcamp.navy.mil/lship_command_officer.asp.
