Raises for CLC facilities workers

Base salary raises of 2.5 percent will be coming to unionized facilities employees through a new four-year contract inked with the College of Lake County. The union is affiliated with Lake County Federation of Teachers Local 504. CLC’s elected officials ratified their end of the deal to make it official at a meeting Tuesday night at the Southlake Campus in Vernon Hills. Union members gave the contract a thumbs-up March 17. The pact runs retroactively from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2014. The 2.5 percent base raises will be for each of the deal’s four years. Employees will be paid retroactively for the contract period already elapsed. “We are pleased to reach what we believe is a fair and fiscally responsible agreement with our facilities union,” said CLC board Chairman Barbara Oilschlager.
