Lunch and learn at CLC:

Lake County’s thirst for clean, usable water — amid a steadily growing population — is the topic of a presentation by Lake County Board member Bonnie Thomson Carter of unincorporated Ingleside. She’ll speak from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1 in room T332 at College of Lake County’s Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St. Carter will explain the county’s challenge in preventing future water shortages. Carter’s presentation will summarize the proposed effort to increase use of Lake Michigan water in light of the limited supplies in underground aquifers. Carter’s presentation is part of CLC’s Lunch and Learn series, sponsored by the college’s environmental action committee. The free seminar is open to the public and no RSVP is required. No beverages or food will be provided, so attendees may bring their own bag lunches. For information, contact Dara Reiff, the college’s sustainability coordinator, at (847) 543-2643 or dreiff@clcillinois.edu.
