Tobacco-Free Health Resource Fair Scheduled for April 25
College of DuPage will host a Tobacco-Free Health Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, in the atrium of the Student Services Center.
The free event will provide tips for kicking the habit, guidelines for overall wellness and stress management, as well as information on the real cost of tobacco use and health-based services available at the College and in the DuPage area.
Representatives from the American Lung Association, the American Cancer Society, Advantage Wellness Clinic, LA Fitness, and Health Track Sports and Wellness will be on hand. Participants can learn more about COD's Laps With the Chaps 5K event scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 20, that promotes the benefits of exercise and wellness.
A similar health resource fair is planned for the fall, with other classes and support opportunities in the works.
The College of DuPage Board of Trustees adopted a Tobacco-Free Campus Policy during its April 19 regular meeting, which states that, effective Monday, Aug. 6, the use of tobacco and tobacco-related products will be prohibited on all College of DuPage premises and in all College-owned vehicles.
